One True Thing

I watched 'One True Thing' on Hulu the morning. It reminded me of the cancer death of my father and of my mother's later sickness so much. It was real in a cleaned up sort of way. These deaths are terribly intimate and not at all neat..and the movie had to be at least neat. Each stage of the disease is shown including stages where some of the most important family memories are formed. These are the days that modern cancer treatments buy us. It shows the early death and owns the disease for what it is.
