NUMMI just the latest in Silicon Valley's long history of manufacturing job losses - San Jose Mercury News

So the plant that I went to for training on the Toyota Production System is in danger  of closing.  I spent a very valuable two week period in this plant in the late 90’s.  Now, it seems, the plant is no longer needed.

Daily Rambles on Fora TV

Culture and Religion in Europe

I really wish I had time to study anything to an ample degree.  This video gives hints of some of the dramatic changes that are happening in Europe.  It gives a structure of thought that could be used with other approaches and introduces me to a writer that is well know but not known to me.

Ian Buruma is well represented on the net and in print.    He spoke well in this discussion with Caryl Phillips on changes in european culture.

The technical aspects of this video are not well done but it is still worthwhile.

Rodents Love Engine Wires

Rodents Love Engine Wires

Today, I got a $200 shock when my local GM mechanic pulled the top cover off my 2004 Buick LaSabre 3800 and found a mouse nest and a good bit of wire damage where you would expect nothing. A quick internet check revealed that the world has changed and harness insulation now includes soy oil which the little critters love. This seems to be an extensive problem so check your vehicles. My Buick is driven everyday so don't think that makes you safe.
