Modern Vehicle Assembly Plants Look Like This.

After living in the world of vehicle assembly for twenty-eight years, this movie is not as much of a surprise to me as it would be to some. Congress shows little comprehension of all the work the car companies have done in the last twenty years that resulted in this plant. That is why they ask questions that relate to the way the industry used to be. This is how it is. Watch the movie.

Bringing the supplier right into the plant is the main difference from the newest of what I saw in 2001 when I left General Motors to retire. Everything else was there then. That leads me to believe that the newest assembly plant ideas are not yet incorporated in this video.
