Picking Up Leaves

Today was the day to clean up some of the leaves in the yard. This job would be impossible without a good mower. The John Deere does a good job but it still takes a full day to do the entire yard right.

American Samoa and My Wife's Sewing Machine

The Foot to my wife's Singer Sewing Machine arrived today. It came all the way from American Samoa and works just perfectly. I am thrilled. We had gone to a local sewing shop that only had the wrong part with didn't work at all. The net and T N T sewing solved my problem.

I got three feet and a holder for $15 including shipping. The machine is fixed and I am very happy.

NUMMI just the latest in Silicon Valley's long history of manufacturing job losses - San Jose Mercury News

So the plant that I went to for training on the Toyota Production System is in danger  of closing.  I spent a very valuable two week period in this plant in the late 90’s.  Now, it seems, the plant is no longer needed.
